Out and about this weekend we took in some skating fun. It is so great to be outside and brush away those late winter cobwebs. On a snowy Sunday what could be more refreshing than skating on the lake? We are still taken aback by these wonderful snowy day moments, I hope we always will be.
Huwyl is still finding his feet with skating but it is amazing how quickly he is building skills. We didn’t get a picture of it but he can actually skate backwards!
And what do you do when all of the skating fun is done? Brunch of course…this is Canada people.
I know what you are wondering and the answer is yes. Beavertails are worth moving to Canada for. You betcha.
Wow! What a wonderfully large area to skate! We are blessed to have a small pond at our homestead for skating, but I know our children would love this!
Warm wishes,
Tonya
We are really lucky to have this in our city! It was such a lovely day out with the snow and open space. Though a pond on your own property sounds pretty wonderful too!
What a beautiful way to celebrate a winter day. Such a special place to ice skate. We went into the mountains over the weekend, and there was a small pond to twirl around on. It had been since my own childhood since I had ice skated, and it was wonderful to get back out there
Thanks Heather! We had a lovely time, it was great to be out in the fresh air. Next week I am going to have a try myself, like you I haven’t skated for a looooong time but I’m very excited to try again. Your mountain getaway sounds like absolute bliss, the refreshing joy of silence cannot be beat.
We were there too! we went Sunday afternoon and had a blast. You are so right – the Beavertails were delicious 🙂
It was such great fun and the snow was lovely. Any excuse for a beavertail is a good excuse I think!
so many many reasons i would move to canada. if not for the cold. : )
Yes it is a teeny bit chilly! But honestly there is so much fun to be had in the cold it is really worth it. And the beavertails. Ahhh the beavertails….
