This is currently the most popular library book in our house. Part of the reason we love it so much (despite being out of season!) is that it has a cd with it. Huwyl loves listening to audio books when he has the book right in front of him, he can ‘read’ along, absorbing the images and listening again and again to the story.
Of course it helps the enjoyment process when he can tuck into an advent treat at the same time!
I love watching Huwyl’s relationship with books evolve, it is something that has been so central to our lives (mine and Stephen’s that is) that I can’t imagine a home without books on every subject. We are both obsessive readers and Huwyl already has several shelves of his own story books, as well as a healthy reference section and a library shelf.
Freed from the ‘burden’ of reading the story myself I love to watch Huwyl absorbing the images and words without interference. Is there anything more comforting than storytime in the dwindling afternoon light?
